William Hotrick McDougal III, a native of Durham, North Carolina, approaches the practice of law with a natural ability to problem solve and a passion to assist the public.
William graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2015 with a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Law. Prior to law school, William worked in the Financial Services Industry specializing in 401(k) account management. In 2020, he received his Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law.
While attending law school, William interned at Wake County Family Court where he discovered his passion to pursue a career in Family Law. William served as the Vice President of the Business Law Society and also handled various Family Law matters through the Family Law Clinic at North Carolina Central University School of Law.
William was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 2021. He is a member of the Wake County Bar Association and the North Carolina Bar Association Family Law Section. Prior to being admitted to the bar, William worked as an intern with Jerkins Family Law.
Outside the courtroom, William is active in the Raleigh-Durham community, and mentors young males in an effort to provide them with guidance and leadership. William enjoys spending valuable time with his wife and daughters. Additionally, he enjoys listening to music, playing video games, watching sports, and getting worked up cheering on his beloved North Carolina Tarheels and Carolina Panthers.
